Welcome
If you're visiting this site, then most likely you or a loved one are suffering from this terrible disease. I've been there. I can vividly remember nights where I would scream into a pillow because it hurt so bad, and eventually I developed some serious complications, could have died, and required major surgery. I made myself a promise that I would learn as much as I could about this disease and about inflammation in general, get myself better, and then help other people with this disease.
I am beating Crohn's disease!
I say "I am beating Crohn's" instead of "I beat Crohn's" because, as I'm sure you know, Crohn's has no cure and is a lifelong condition. However, by making healthy changes to my lifestyle, backed by science, I have been able to eliminate virtually all Crohn's symptoms and have been completely symptom free for years! But this is not a one-time thing, it is a lifestyle that will be ongoing.
Isn't Crohn's inherited?
There does seem to be a genetic factor to Crohn's, but this does not mean it's inherited the same way that simple traits like eye color are. While your risk may be higher than others, don't think that a family history of Crohn's means you are doomed to suffer from this terrible disease for life, yes genes factor into our health but so does lifestyle. Crohn's runs in my family. I inherited it from my mom. I still beat it, and so can you!

Resources - A collection of information that I hope is helpful. I hope to add more items here soon.
Video Blog (working on it): I'll be releasing videos on my experience with developing, and overcoming Crohn's disease naturally. I'll also review new recipes for Crohn's-friendly cooking, new research as it comes out, and other ideas to support you in your fight against Crohn's. I'll do this from my perspective as a human anatomy and physiology teacher. My goal is to help "demystify" some of the science behind Crohn's disease, inflammation in general, and the human gut.
